Swimming pool heaters, not sure which one to choose from

When you are not using the pool, is it necessary to maintain the swimming pool, well yes so what do you need to keep it maintained. For the winter the first thing you require is obviously the swimming pool heater to protect your pipes from freezing. These swimming pool heaters can be fitted to any old or new pools.

Choosing the heater is difficult, so you will need to do some research so that you buy a heater which is powerful enough to heat the volume of water in your swimming pool.

The old traditional forms of heaters are gas, oil and electric based heaters but these days many people are going for heat pump systems.

Define heat pump?

It is a device to move the heat from one place to another. So, how does it work? Normally these heat pumps use pipes, which are buried under the garden to receive heat from the ground. This process is used for radiators to warm water or underfloor heating systems.

Here are the names of manufacturers who do certain type of heaters:

  • Certikin oil swimming pool heaters
  • Intex electric swimming pool heaters
  • The Laars Jandy natural gas & propane gas heaters for swimming pools.

Now that you have some idea on what sort of swimming pool heater can be used for your swimming pools, I recommend you do the same type of reading and research on choosing swimming pool covers, swimming pool chemicals and swimming pool filters.

If you have now chosen the heater, apply the heat slowly moving the heat source towards the coldest spot on the pipe. I have seen people make this small mistake of leaving the heat in one spot for a very long time and damage the pipes, so make sure you keep moving the heat while applying it to the pipe. Let the faucet run until the water pressure is normal.
