Cruises, are they still standing up to your average holiday?

The upcoming years is bearing down upon us, and now the decision on a holiday is becoming more important. Christmas is here, and so holiday bookings fall to an all time low, then January slaps us in the face and those bookings go mad. So here are two holidays that are squaring up to each other, which one is going to come out on top next year.

The Cruise ship holiday has done very well, and the ships themselves just seem to be getting bigger and bigger to accommodate more people. Cruise ships have been that little niche market, however now they are coming out of their shell a bit. This was a new thing that people could give a try, however you did need a lot of money. These holidays are now accessible by the general public and middle class, so more people are trying them out. Cruises can take massive numbers aboard there ships, even in the thousands, but because of their sheer size they can quite comfortably cope with this. Cruise Ships have a massive amount of entertainment on board, there are even some with an artificial wave generator on the top of them for surfers.

Island holidays are very popular, the same as beach holidays, these are the more common holiday, where you relax in one spot, no travelling involved. We will use one location as an example let’s say the Caribbean. There are so many great beach areas in the Caribbean, the best probably in St Lucia, Barbados and Antigua not to mention Jamaica and Cuba. If you want to save a little bit of cash, a cruise holiday is not the best way to go, and although Caribbean holidays are also a bit pricey, they do not cost as much, and they are considered more luxurious too. However you only get to experience one location, and is that going to be enough for you?

So what are you going to plan for your holiday next year, Caribbean holidays also come in that crucial cruise mix as well, where as St Lucia holidays and Barbados holidays are great, especially for those that just want to sun!
