A Weekend Away In New York
Wednesday, September 8th, 2010Last weekend I went on a shopping trip to New York. Being able to head over to a place as wonderful as New York for a couple of days really is a sign of the times. The fact that it wasn’t even too expensive for the hotel or the flights made it even better. I was actually looking in the newspaper and saw a cheap flight to New York and I decided that I should just go for it. I used to think that these advertisements were just claiming to have flights this cheap but that you never really got the price advertised; I was wrong. After paying for both my flights and accommodation, I was only down four hundred pounds; I couldn’t believe it.
There are a lot of people who would put New York at the top of their list of shopping destinations in the whole world. With so much temptation on offer, I really had to resist the urge to max out my credit cards. Even with a lot of self control I still ended up buying a lot. In New York you will also be amazed by the entertainment which is on offer. On the first night I visited a trendy restaurant and a few proper New York bars - the fact that I was a single woman didn’t seem to bother anyone. I really will never forget my second night as I went to an amazing show on Boadway; it truly was an unforgettable experience.
I would highly recommend one of these short breaks to anyone; especially considering how cheap you can do it for. I would be straight back on the plane in a flash if I could. I feel that having a few extra breaks throughout the year is important for our sanity. In my opinion if you can take a break through the winter, it doesn’t feel so endless; I really don’t think one holiday abroad is enough.
